Swara Bhasker Reveals She Lost Work Because She Campaigned For Candidates In Lok Sabha Elections 2019

In the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections Bollywood actress Swara Bhasker came forward to support a few contestants in their election campaigns. The actress has now revealed said that the campaigning resulted in her loosing work including a few events and brands. The revelation came after the actress was asked at the poster launch of her film why Bollywood stars shy away from commenting on subjects of national importance.

Answering the question, Swara who seldom shies away from speaking her mind gave her own example and stated, "I lost four brands the day I campaigned for candidates for Lok Sabha election, lost three events. The hit that my work took at the end of that experience.”

The actress said that the stakes for public figures speaking their minds on matters are high and it puts them at a bigger risk with their lives careers and families. The actress also added, "If we want our public figures, people with legacies, to speak out and take responsible sides, then we have to become the society, which doesn’t punish people doing that."

Swara also shared the poster of Sheer Qorma on Twitter and wrote, “So proud to play @farazarifansari ‘s gentle and shining Sitara in #sheerqorma the film.. The film also stars Shabana Azmi and Divya Dutta while the release date of the project is yet to be announced.
