    Acclaimed actor-director Manivannan expires at 58

    The celebrated actor-director of the Tamil film industry Manivannan suffered from a cardiac arrest and passed away at the age of 58. He has been a familiar face down South experienced with 400 films in his record as an actor and 50 films as director.

    Apart from Tamil, he has also made his mark in Telugu, Malayalam and Hindi film industries as well. His last film as an actor and director was Satyaraj-starrer Nagaraja Cholan MA, MLA which was released on May 10. Several film personalities have shared their mourning messages through Twitter after the news of his sudden death came into light. He has been famous for his comic and character roles and he has shared screen space with superstars likeRajinikanth,Kamal Haasan and several other youngsters.

    Khushbu tweeted, "RIP Manivannan sir..my husband's guru..learnt the finer nuances of being a producers director from him..great soul..we will miss u Sir..” Her husband Sundar C. used to work as an assistant to Manivannan. Actor Siddharth mourned, "The great Manivannan sir is no more. Many lives in cinema are what they are today because of him. Writer, director, actor…gone too soon. RIP". A tweet also arrived from Priyamani, "Can't believe manivannan sir is no more!!haven't had the opportunity to work with him but what a versatile actor/director!RIP sir!" May his soul rest in peace.
