Jaya Prada Makes A Comeback To Kollywood After A Decade

Malayalam filmmaker MA Nishad, who is known for making movies on socially relevant issues such as farmer suicides, pollution and child abuse, is coming up with a movie which will be based on a social issue. The film will be a bilingual in Tamil and Malayalam. The story of the flick will center on the water dispute between the people of Tamil Nadu and Kerala because of a well.

It will be titled Keni (meaning well) in Tamil and Kinar in Malayalam. And for the female lead, the filmmaker has roped none other than actress-turned-politician Jaya Pradha, who will be essaying the role of Indira. The movie will mark the return of Jaya in Tamil cinema after a long gap of 10 years.  

Talking about the movie, Nishad said, "People can live without food but not without water. I am raising a question to the society, the system and the politicians - Who is the custodian of water? The story is narrated from the perspectives of three different journalists representing an English newspaper, a visual medium and a women's magazine." Apart from Jaya, the film also has Revathy, Anu Hassan, Rekha , Parthiban, Nasser among others.
