Maalavika Sundar Music Album For Women Empowerment

An album for women empowerment! On the occasion of International Women's Day, Maalavika Sundar has gifted something of musical nature to all women.  Maalavika Sundar, who turned a playback singer, has come out with a music album Yen Pennae. Let’s find out more about it.

According to reports, composer Kumar Narayanan has played an instrumental role in bringing Maalavika to sing the song. While talking about the album, he said, “It's a soulful song which has hard-hitting lyrics like ‘Maarbu Varai Paarkiran, Manam parkkavillai’ (he looks at women's breasts, and doesn't see her heart which is beyond that) by Dharan. I wanted a voice, which is subtle yet arresting. Maalavika was our first choice.”

There were reports that the number is concerned with the exploitation, violence, discrimination and degradation faced by women in their domestic attic as well as in the external world. It’s high time that such issues should be dealt with seriousness. It’s an ideological change which is required to deal with the loss that women have faced on the basis of gender since time immemorial.
