The team of Ajith’s upcoming film ‘Vedhalam’ is gearing up for the release of the film. The film cleared all its censor formalities last month and is expected to hit the theater screens on November 10, just a day before Diwali. People are excited to see Thala in a dual role on the big screen, but here is news that may lessen their excitement.

According to reports, the story of the Siva directorial has been inspired from Mohanlal’s 1999 hit Malayalam film ‘Ustaad’. Comparisons are being made to the storyline of both the flicks. Mohanlal’s film showed the veteran actor as a businessman, who tries to hide his past from everyone, even his sister. But his past haunts him back and reveals his true identity of a gangster. All the teasers and the stills of Ajith’s 56th venture indicate a similar plot.

Reportedly, Rajinikanth’s ‘Baasha’ too had a similar story and ‘Vedhalam’ was compared to the 1995 action film. We will have to see whether the film has any surprises or has been inspired from the yesteryears movies. The film features Shruti Hasan as the female lead and has Lakshmi Menon in a prominent role.
