Heropanti 2 Movie Review: The lack of logic and abundance of cringe will make you want to ask the makers 'Choti Bachi Ho Kya?'

A severe dearth of logic and common sense in the plot, cringefest that were the dialogues, constipated performances, and blaring songs which have no relevance to the story. If I could sum up the snoozefest that was Tiger Shroff 's Heropanti 2 , this would be it. Not even the main protagonist's exaggerated action sequences and flaunting his washboard abs within a few minutes even the movie can save the deplorable execution of this one.

The plot revolves around Babloo (Tiger Shroff) a hacking expert who also needless to say possesses superhuman powers while fighting the baddies. He locks horns with the antagonist Laila ( Nawazuddin Siddiqui ) who wishes to implement his cybercrime scam in India to loot the money of all the innocent citizens of the country. More than menacing, Laila's eccentric laughter and bizzare hand movement comes across to be annoying. Then there is Inaaya ( Tara Sutaria ), Babloo's love interest who's shown to be a self made millionaire and an owner of a gaming company but her only motto is to play a damsel in distress to seek Babloo's attention and get them in trouble in the most stupidest manner possible.

Ahmed Khan 's direction is wrong on so many levels with Heropanti 2. There is no logic in the strategy of the antagonist and his partners when it comes to executing their plan 'Pulse.' The employment of Tiger's character by the government officials to nab Siddiqui's Laila looks like a joke. Tara Sutaria seems to forget that she's an owner of a billion-dollar company while accompanying Tiger in his shenanigans. A woman's melodramatically sorrowful plight and a visit to a shrine are enough to have major character development for Tiger. But the most idiocracy-filled scene has to be the one where Tiger Shroff comes out unscathed after being in the middle of a bomb blast. Not to forget, he is attacked countless times by swords and knives but that only tears down his shirt for him to flaunt his sculpted physique but no harm comes to him.

The writing by Rajat Arora and Sajid Nadiadwala loses hindsight and almost appears to be comical, all for the wrong reason. Whether it is Amrita Singh's character telling the full form of MCBC to be 'Main Chali Bye Cutie' or Tiger Shroff's Babloo muttering 'Babloo Dhundne Se Nahi, Kismat Se Milta Hai', almost all the dialogues appear to be painstakingly atrocious to hear. Not to forget, an overenthusiastic Tara Sutaria says 'Maine Kahan Utar Ne Ko Toh Pakeezah Banta Hai Par Isne Kahan Toh Dirty Picture' when Tiger rips off his clothes on the request of a highly sexualized nurse for no reason. The review will certainly not commence if I go on pointing out the various cringeworthy dialogues in the film.

Tiger Shroff though tries to deliver some emotional scenes but the actor falls flat when it comes to the performance aspect. He struggles to emote the so-called comedy or high-intensity scenes. Even his action sequences do not add any validation to the overall performance. It was a pure pity to see an actor of Nawazuddin Siddiqui's caliber being reduced to such a caricatured and cartoonish portrayal of a villain. His performance was an exact rip-off of his Kick character except for his effeminate touch. The character's portrayal will also come across as a highly stereotypical and borderline offensive portrayal of the queer community. Tara Sutaria for a change is not just reduced to a prop in this one but the actress only seems to elevate her fashion game in the film instead of her performance. She struggles with her expressions in almost all the frames of Heropanti 2. Probably only Amrita Singh tried to do some justice and add a little endearing touch to her character of Tiger Shroff's mother but her badly written dialogues do not compliment her.

None of the action sequences look realistic and compliment Tiger Shroff's forte as an action hero. The cinematography by Kabir Lal is satisfactory and the locations are captured well. Despite being an AR Rahman composition, the music album appears to be underwhelming.

Overall the baseless plotline, deplorable dialogues and the weak performances will make you want to ask the makers, 'Choti Bachi Ho Kya?' If you care for your sanity, you might want to give this one a miss.
