Andor Episode 7 Review - The episode manages to pull off some excellent world-building and character growth.

The episode has Cassian Andor return to Ferrix and reunite with Maarva, he tells her his plan of both of them escaping the planet together and being free of the empire, but she refuses to say she has been inspired by the recent actions of the rebels at Aldhani.

Meanwhile, Senator Mon Mothma realizes that she will need to play a more active role in the rebellion and take more risks.

This episode titled "Announcement" directed by Benjamin Caron isn't as high stakes or action-heavy as the last episode but focuses more on character development

Be it Maarva who finally decides to stand up to the empire after years of hiding or Syril Karn who shows his determination to clear his name and reputation.

It feels refreshing to watch and it successfully manages to show you at the end of the day that be it the Empire or Rebels it is about flawed people who are doing what they believe is best for them and the galaxy.

This is thanks to some great performances from the cast and a well-paced and engaging scrpit by Stephen Schiff.

The focus also shifts to lieutenant Dedra Meero, who finally has the evidence needed to prove her theory that the rebels are more organized than the empire believes and have a network in place that spans the entire galaxy.

There is an excellent scene in which she is called out by her colleague for breaking the chain of command. She is successfully able to turn things around and come out on top, and it was the biggest highlight of the episode. Denise Gough deserves a lot of praise for her strong and consistent performance so far.

The episode ends with Cassian Andor being accidentally arrested by the empire after he is mistaken for someone else. It will be fun to see how he manages to escape imperial custody.

Overall this episode was a solid watch and manages to pull off some excellent world-building and character growth.

The first seven episodes of Andor are currently streaming on Disney +, with new episodes every Wednesday.
