A new report claims that Sacha Baron Cohen is playing Mephisto in The MCU's Ironheart series

    According to a recent report by Deadline, the Borat actor will be playing the role of the demon Mephisto in the upcoming Ironheart series.

    While there were rumors that Sacha Baron Cohen would be praying the role of Mephisto in the MCU , the latest report by Deadline seems to corroborate the report.

    According to the report "been talk on the set about Cohen being part of Ironheart , likely playing Mephisto."

    Add in the fact that The Hood played by Anthony Ramos in the upcoming series is said to have obtained his powers from a demon only adds to support the rumor.

    In the comics, Mephisto is a powerful and immortal demon, who is known for making deals with people in exchange for their souls.

    If this turns out to be true this will be the third live-action appearance of the character, having previously been played by Peter Fonda in the 2007 film Ghost Ride and Ciaran Hinds in its 2012 sequel Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance.

    It remains to be seen how big a role the character will play in the series but we do know that he will play a larger role in the MCU, with Deadline adding that he could show up in the WandaVision spinoff, Agatha: Coven of Chaos.

    While plot details for the series remain under wraps, we do know that Riri Williams aka Ironheart will be playing a major role in the upcoming Black Panther: Wakanda Forever .

    Sam Bailey of Brown Girls fame and Angely Barnes who previously worked on Mythic Quest have been hired to direct the series, with Ryan Coogler serving as executive producer.

    Fans will have to wait till next year to know these new reports pan out, either way, it will be interesting to see how Marvel fans react to Ironman's successor.

    Black Panther will hit theaters on 11 November 2022.
