    After Bard Of Blood, Emraan Hashmi has returned to the OTT platform with a new series titled Showtime. The makers of the series on Wednesday dropped the much-awaited first look of the same and left fans intrigued. The upcoming show not only stars Emraan but features a talented ensemble cast including Naseeruddin Shah, Mouni Roy, Shriya Sharan, Rajeev Khandelwal, Mahima Makwana and Vijay Raaz among others.

    Filmmaker Karan Johar, who has produced Showtime under Dharmatic Entertainment shared the first look on his Instagram. He wrote, “Welcome to world which functions on - lights, camera & action! Entangled in a struggle for power, Showtime is a web series that will draw boundaries…only to cross them.” The short clip begins with Emraan, playing a Bollywood superstar, romancing Mouni for a movie scene. Rajeev, who appears to play Emraan’s competitor, is also seen arriving in a horse. There were other sequences where Shriya stripping in front of Rajeev; Mouni Roy being mishandled by Emraan, and Mahima confronting Emraan in the clip.

    In the video, Emraan can be heard commenting on nepotism saying, “Nepotism ke mukhote ke peeche, aakhir me har outside insider bana chahta hai.” Even Naseeruddin Shah says, “Cinema dhandha nahi dharm hai saada.” As soon as the first look video surfaced on the internet, netizens spammed the comment section with reactions. A user said, “This just looks so amazing. Glad to be back in the “Emraan” timeline with multiple releases of him. He’s definitely back in the game and howww!!” Another commented, “Yay !!!!!! Mon , can't wait !!! So excited to see you in this one.”

    Showtime is billed as an epic saga of legacy and ambition in the world of cinema. It delves into the multi-million dollar industry of Bollywood, nepotism and the power struggles at the top. The drama comes from screenwriter Sumit Roy, Mihir Desai as the showrunner and he will direct alongside Archit Kumar. The show is set to arrive on Disney+Hotstar in 2024.
