What makes Karan Johar afraid of inviting his 'mentor and guru' Aditya Chopra on Koffee With Karan?

Karan Johar ’s show Koffee With Karan never fails in brewing some pretty interesting gossip about the lives of celebrities. Being in the show is one equivalent of describing success in the industry if you’re a newcomer but there are also celebrities who also want to avoid being on the show all together.

While Karan has famously confessed that Ranbir Kapoor has refused his offer to being on the show in the fear of being gossiped about, the filmmaker was recently asked why he’s never approached his mentor Aditya Chopra to be on the show.

Being interviewed by Sidharth Kannan for the promotions of Koffee With Karan 7 recently, the filmmaker confessed that Aditya Chopra is one of his closest confidants in the film industry. Karan said that at his lowest he calls Aditya for advice and is also extremely close to Shah Rukh Khan and family.

“Aditya Chopra is my mentor, my guru and he will always be the person who in my weakest, downest moments is the call I make,” said Karan in the interview about Aditya Chopra.

On being asked by then has he never approached Aditya to be on the show and Karan added laughing, “Aditya Chopra? Firstly, people have to believe that he exists. He might slap me if I suggest it also.”

The Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge filmmaker is known to keep a low profile and he famously hates getting clicked.

Apart from Aditya and Ranbir, actress Deepika Padukone and superstar Shah Rukh Khan have also declined Karan Johar’s offer to be on his chat show, for this season at least. So far, stars like Sonam Kapoor, Aamir Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Ranveer Singh, Akshay Kumar and few others have graced the on going season.
