Manu Punjabi reveals cops have nabbed the man who gave him an extortion mail and claimed to be from Lawrence Bishnoi gang

Bigg Boss 10 fame and actor Manu Punjabi was in for a rude shock after he had received an extortion mail from a man who claimed to be from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang who have recently taken up the responsibility for the murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala . Now, according to the latest development, Manu has revealed that the cops have caught the man who had sent the mail. However, the actor added that his family members are inevitably still afraid for his life.

According to a news report in Etimes, Manu Punjabi had contacted Jaipur Police after he had received the extortion mail while he was in his hometown in Rajasthan. The report further added that the police authorities traced the IP address of the mail and located it to a man hailing from Bijnor, Uttar Pradesh. The police nabbed the culprit on Tuesday (June 28).

Manu Punjabi spoke to Chandigarh Times wherein he said, “On June 22, I received an email from someone saying that he is from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. He demanded `10 lakh from me. The mail went on to state that if I didn’t send the money in the next four hours, I would be killed. I was also warned in the mail to not contact the police. The email, in the end, had digital signatures from Goldy Brar (the Canada-based gangster who reportedly claimed responsibility for murdering Sidhu Moosewala).”

Punjabi added that his family is still afraid for his safety after the incident and that he also had to cancel a work-related event of his. Manu Punjabi went on to say, “Since I was in Rajasthan, I contacted the local police, who assigned two police personnel for my protection. After investigation, they caught the accused, who they said is a drug addict living in UP. Though this person’s claim that he is from the Bishnoi gang has not been established by the police, my family is still afraid. In fact, I had an event two days back, but my family forced me to cancel it.” The Deputy Commissioner Of Jaipur Police, Richa Tomar revealed that the culprit is not from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang but instead a drug addict who has sent such emails to other celebrities too.
