Actress-politician Smriti Irani recently recalled in an interview with RJ Nilesh Misra how she was asked to shoot for Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi after a day of having a miscarriage. The actress remembered how she also showed proof of the same to producer Ekta Kapoor since a co-actor of hers from the show told the latter that Smriti was lying about losing her child. Furthermore, she also made a heartfelt revelation about the late actor Sushant Singh Rajput .

Smriti said that she was also shooting for Ravi Chopra’s Ramayan at the same time wherein the plot was then revolving around her character of Goddess Lakshmi and Sita. However, she remembered how Chopra showed extreme compassion for her and told her not to come to shoot in this condition while the makers of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi asked her to come to work despite her telling them about the miscarriage. Irani said, “I was not aware that I am pregnant. I was on the set (of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi) and I told them I am not well enough to shoot and asked to be allowed to go home. But still, I worked, and by the time they let me go, it was evening already. The doctor suggested I go for a sonography. On my way, I started bleeding, and I remember it was raining. I stopped an auto and asked the driver to take me to the hospital. I reached the hospital, a nurse came running to ask for an autograph, while I was bleeding. I gave her the autograph, and asked her, ‘Admit kar loge, I think I am miscarrying.'”

She went on to say how, unlike Ravi Chopra, the makers of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi asked her to come to work after a co-actor of hers told them that she is lying about her condition. Smriti Irani said, “The person didn’t realise that I have returned because I needed money to pay EMIs for my house. The next day, I took all my medical papers to Ekta to tell her it is not a drama. She got uncomfortable and told me not to show the papers. I told her, ‘Foetus bacha nahi, warna woh bhi dikha deti (I would have shown you the foetus also had it been there).”

Apart from this, Smriti Irani also made a heartwarming revelation about Sushant Singh Rajput. She broke down in the interview as she recalled that she had asked the Dil Bechara actor to not take his own life. The Maniben.com actress further added that Sushant should have called her if he was being tormented by such thoughts. Talking about Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, the show is considered to be one of the most popular and cult TV shows of Indian television.
