Sushant Singh Rajput's sister Meetu unhappy with Pavitra Rishta 2, feels it's a sad attempt at encashing his name

It has been almost two years since Sushant Singh Rajput passed away. The actor was found dead in his apartment on the 14th of June, 2020. Sushant had become a household name as Manav from Pavitra Rishta, and therefore when a reboot of Pavitra Rishta was announced with Shaheer Sheikh and Ankita Lokhande , some were unsure how the serial would be received by the audience. However, it did well and the makers have now even announced a season 2 to it. But, Sushant's sister Meetu Singh does not seem to be very happy about it.

Talking to Aajtak.in, Meetu Singh said that this looks like an attempt to just cash in on Sushant's name. She said, “Hum nahin chaahate ki koi hamare bhai (Sushant Singh Rajput) ki maut ko bhunae. Imandari se kahoon to main Pavitra Rishta 2 ki ghoshana se khush nahin hoon. Yeh spasht roop se Sushant ke naam ka fayda uthaane ka ek dukhad prayaas hai. (We do not want anyone to cash in on the death of our brother. To be honest, I am not happy with the announcement of Pavitra Rishta 2. This is clearly a sad attempt to take advantage of Sushant's name).”

Sushant had been a part of Pavitra Rishta for years, before he decided to quit the show to pursue his Bollywood dreams. The actor was seen opposite Ankita Lokhande, who he was also with in real life. However, they parted ways around the release of his film Raabta , after almost a decade of being together.
