TMKOC: Rakhi Vijan rubbishes reports of playing replacing Disha Vakani as the new Dayaben, clarifies she wasn't approched

After five years of waiting the anticipation among fans is high about Dayaben ’s return on Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah . While it has been confirmed after years of waiting that actress Disha Vakani will not be reprising her role in the popular sitcom, rumour mills were abuzz that Hum Paanch actress Rakhi Vijan will be taking on the role as Dayaben’s return has been confirmed.

Rakhi has now reacted to the rumours going around that she will be the new Dayaben on Taarak Mehta and rubbished these rumours by saying that she hasn’t been approached by the makers for the part.

Addressing a news post on Instagram, Rakhi wrote, “hello every1..this news is a rumor..which shocks me..I haven't been approached by the producers or th channel..”

Several fans took to the comments section of the post thanking the actress for the clarification while a few other fans of the show expressed their desire to see Disha Vakani return.

Disha Vakani took a break from Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah after giving birth to her first bor in 2017 and didn’t return to the show since.

Weary of waiting for her return, producer of the show Asit Modi clarified in a recent interview that while they have been waiting for the actress for long, the plan is now to introduce a new Dayaben on the show while not have received any formal notice from Disha about quitting the show.

Disha recently gave birth to her second born and it is safe to say that fans will not be seeing her on on Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah anytime soon.

The makers are holding auditions to shortlist a new name for the part while Dayaben’s return has already been teased on the show.
