Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai: Akshara-Abhimanyu wedding inspired by Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra's real life nuptials?

Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai always finds new ways to win the audiences all over again and the recent wedding of Dr Abhimanyu Birla ( Harshad Chopda ) and Akshara Goenka's (Pranali Rathod) marriage has finally happened. While the fans are on cloud nine with this new track on the show, a recent report has revealed that the makers of the show went all out for this mega celebration on YRKKH.

According a report in BollywoodLife, the channel spent a pretty penny on shooting Abhimanyu and Akshara’s wedding sequence. The shoot took place in Rajasthan for ten days and the wedding scenes which were nothing short of royal were reportedly filmed at the Samode Palace.

The production cost for the wedding sequence alone cost the makers close to Rs. 2 crores, the report has a source close to the production claiming. With the entire cast of the show being flown down to Rajasthan for the shoot, the actors were put up in costly 10-16k per night rooms at the resort for ten days claims the report. The palace also charges hefty prices as far as weddings are concerned.

Apart from the lodgings and venue cost to cover, Yeh Rishta Kya Khelata Hai cast was also dressed in Rajasthani poshak with the lead actress Pranali Rathod’s lehenga for the wedding alone costing Rs. 2.35 lakhs.

What’s more is that the Abhimanyu and Akshara wedding is said to be inspired by the real-life grand wedding of Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas. The couple tied the knot at the Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur Rajasthan in 2018.

The dreamy East meets West wedding at the venue was nothing short of royal and well the show seems to have left no stone unturned to keep this telly wedding a affair to remember much like Priyanka and Nick’s wedding.
