    Bollywood has had various kings of box-office in the past but none have ruled and broken records quite like Salman Khan has.

    Out of nowhere, it seems, the 50-year-old actor has climbed to the top of Bollywood. in 2009, when Wanted was released his career was in a bit of trouble, not having delivered a proper hit in years. But that changed Prabhu Deva's Wanted  came out and broke several expectations. And since then, he has made a habit of breaking both expectations and records. Back-to-back, he has done Dabangg, Bodyguard, Ek Tha Tiger, Dabangg 2, Kick, Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Prem Ratan Dhan Payo–all of them blockbusters. (Sultan will soon be added to the list.)

    But, like mentioned, things weren't always as good for the Bhai of Bollywood like they are now.

    Yuvvraj (2008)

    Subhash Ghai's musical film paired Salman Khan opposite Katrina Kaif but the resut was less than satisfactory. Not only did the film got mixed reviews from the critics but was a flop, earning only ₹16 crore at the domestic box-office.

    Phir Milenge (2004)

    Though this drama about AIDS was critically appreciated, it didn't help film's run at the box-office. According to reports, the film earned a meagre ₹3.5 crore.

    Veer (2010)

    This epic about the Pindari movement in colonial times didn't match expectations. The film is said to have barely recovered cost, making it another below-average entry in Salman Khan's locker.

    Main Aur Mrs. Khanna (2009)

    Even the fact that movie was released at the peak time of Diwali didn't seem to help the film. The film had an abysmal run, which was further affected by bad reviews and poor word-of-mouth. According to reports, the film only earned ₹6 crore in its first week. 

    Marigold (2007)

    Remember this film? In all likelihood, you don't. Salman's international project, though got some good reviews, but failed miserably at the box-office. According to reports, the film earned only ₹1 crore at the Indian box-office.

    Shaadi Karke Phas Gaya (2006)

    Remake of a Tamil film, this Salman Khan-Shilpa Shetty starrer was a failure at the box-office. The film earned mere ₹ 2.5 crore commercially.

    Saawariya (2007)

    Even though, it was a launchpad for Ranbir Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor, Salman Khan's role was heavily promoted in the film's buildup. None of it helped of course as the film failed both commercially and critically.

    We're glad that such films are in Salman Khan's past. And you know what? So is Salman Khan.
