Midweek B.O. – Khoobsurat, Daawat-e-Ishq hold average, Friday to stay quiet this week

After having started on a not so swift note on box office, both Daawat-e-Ishq and Khoobsurat remained the same way after the opening weekend. While Khoobsurat which was already running away with better reviews tried to hold its fort, Daawat-e-Ishq’s collections too saw a fall. The total for Daawat-e-Ishq now stands at 18.6 crores while Khoobsurat is catching up at 16.7 crores.

What the opening weekend reflected for the fate of these two films was pretty much carried over by the next week days as well. If both the movies are to be kept under scanner, then the theatrical run is nothing beyond average. While the makers of Sonam Kapoor’s Khoobsurat would still be breathing a sigh of relief, Yashraj wouldn’t be too happy with the short comings of Daawat-e-Ishq. While Habib Faisal’s previous film Ishaqzaade did a far better business than this, the Aditya Parineeti starrer must have given them some points to think about. However, the two films will still remain the top choices of cinegoers next week since no big release is lined up to challenge the two films this Friday.

There’s not just one or two but four films scheduled to release tomorrow but are all petite prospects for audiences really. The films are 3 AM, Balwinder Singh... Famous Ho Gaya, Chaarfutiya Chhokare and Desi Kattey therefore Daawat-e-Ishq and Khoobsurat have another week to add respect in their kitty before the big week of Bang Bang and Haider arrives. It is expected that Khoobsurat may take the penultimate lead in the days to come since it is holding well after having started on a catching note to Daawat-e-Ishq. Let’s find out!
