    Vir Das secured the International Emmy for Comedy, marking his second nomination and first victory. The acclaimed comedian took home the Best Comedy Series award for his Netflix stand-up special, Vir Das: Landing, sharing the honor with the third season of the UK show Derry Girls. Notably, Das had previously received a nomination in the same category in 2021 for his stand-up special titled For India.

    In a statement released by Netflix, Vir Das expressed, "This moment is truly surreal – an incredible honor that feels like a dream. Winning an Emmy for 'Vir Das: Landing' in the 'Comedy Category' is not just a milestone for me but for Indian comedy as a whole."

    Vir Das stands among four Indians at the International Emmys this year, where Shefali Shah, nominated for her role in Delhi Crime, narrowly missed the Best Actress award, which went to Mexico's Karla Souza. Jim Sarbh also faced disappointment in the Best Actor category for Rocket Boys, with the award claimed by UK star Martin Freeman. Adding to India's pride, Ektaa Kapoor is honored with the prestigious International Emmy Directorate Award this year.
