Well, see definitely saw a round two in the form of Martin Scorsese’s period crime drama Killers Of The Flower Moon locking horns with Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour at the box office. While the Leonardo DiCaprio film definitely got a solid start, it is seen struggling in front of Swift’s concert movie. Yes, you heard that right! The songstress’ movie is still emerging victorious over the Scorsese directorial.

    The ‘Love Story’ singer’s concert film earned a whopping $92.8 million in its opening weekend. Now, according to AMC theatres, the movie has minted $31 million over the weekend from 3,855 locations. Reportedly the theatre chain is playing the movie from Thursdays to Sundays. The majority of the fans headed off to the theatres on the opening weekend with the sales being generated through advance booking. However, the movie did see a dip of around 67% hinting that it was more of a success on its opening weekend. But still, The Eras Tour proved to be a massive success as it became the highest-grossing concert film in North America. It has managed to earn $129.8 domestically.

    On the other hand, Leonardo DiCaprio’s Killers Of The Flower Moon opened with $23 million at the box office. It also became the third-highest opener for Martin Scorsese after Shutter Island and The Departed. The movie furthermore managed to earn $21 million overseas. However, one can clearly see the difference between the collections of the Scorsese directorial and Swift’s concert movie. It will be interesting to see whether the crime drama which also stars Robert DeNiro and Lily Gladstone manages to see an improvement in the collections. The movie has received an A rating and is being considered a potential nomination for the Oscars.
