For no fault of their own, the five girls of the newly debuted group ILLIT have been receiving hate comments amidst the HYBE vs. CEO of ADOR, Min Hee Jin issue. Even before their debut, ILLIT gained many fans due to the reality show. Soon after they made their debut, their stardom only grew. However, due to different issues, the young members, some even teenagers, have been subjected to a lot of hate comments from netizens.

While many assume the words won't reach the members, it turned out to be untrue, as the girls, who recently went live, were subjected to it, and 16-year-old Wonhee was seen literally reporting hateful comments.

On May 14, ILLIT surprised fans with a group live broadcast on Weverse, and during the broadcast, the members chatted with fans and had some adorable interactions with each other. However, one clip that has since gone viral showed Wonhee seemingly reporting a comment, meaning that she was reading some of the hateful comments that people watching the broadcast had made towards the group.

Soon fans took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to share that part of the video, and they were angered to see the young idol having to report comments amid all the hate they had been receiving. Soon "Protect ILLIT" trended, while many added that it shouldn't be a 16-year-old idol's job to report the comments. Fans want the staff to monitor the comments.

    Why is ILLIT receiving hate?

Given the recent turmoil involving HYBE and the ongoing wave of negativity directed towards ILLIT, it came as no shock that some speculated the comments worsened following accusations by ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin of the group plagiarizing NewJeans.

Despite their celebrity status, idols are human beings, and the members of ILLIT, being young girls, are perceived by netizens as unjustly targeted with hate. Wonhee's apparent acknowledgement and reporting of the comments indicate that the idols are aware of the hostility directed towards them, and it undeniably affects them.
