Just like every other sibling, Abhishek Bachchan and Shweta Bachchan recently indulged in social media banter over a throwback picture from childhood that the latter shared on her Instagram.

On Thursday, Shweta took a stroll down a memory lane and posted an unseen picture featuring herself with her father and legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan. The photo shows her sitting on his father’s lap, which seems to be clicked during an event as they are surrounded by people. In the caption, she quoted lines from Isaac Newton, and wrote, “Standing on the shoulders of giants”.

As soon as the post surfaced online, Abhishek was quick to notice. He took to the comment section and pulled Shweta’s leg by writing, “But you’re sitting. Ok bye”. To which Shweta sarcastically replied, “Look Ma such a wise guy!” further she added, “it’s a quote by Newton and I know better than to mess with the Og’s.”

Besides Abhishek, many other celebrities including Maheep Kapoor, and Angad Bedi among others commented on Shweta’s post. While Maheep reacted to the post with emojis, Angad also joined the banter and wrote, “The caption just didn't ‘sit’ here Shweta,” and added laughing emojis.

For the unversed, Shweta Bachchan is the daughter of actors Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan. Unlike her brother Abhishek, she chose to stay away from the showbiz business. However, she is often spotted at Bollywood parties and events. She tied the knot with businessman Nikhil Nanda in 1997 and has two children- Navya and Agastya Nanda.

While her daughter Navya decided to join her father’s business, her son Agastya is joining the film industry. Recently, he revealed his first look from his upcoming debut film, The Archies directed by Zoya Akhtar. In the film, he is co-starring Shah Rukh Khan’s daughter, Suhana Khan, and Boney Kapoor’s youngest daughter, Khushi Kapoor, who are also making their Bollywood debut with the Netflix film.

Sharing the film teaser, Shweta gave a shout to the whole team of Agastya’s film and wrote, “Get ready to take a trip down memory lane 'cause The Archies by @zoieakhtar is coming soon only on @netflix_in". “This is their story.” The Archies will be released on Netflix in 2023.
