After Sara Ali Khan, Vicky Kaushal to be chucked from The Immortal Ashwatthama?

Fans were over the moon with joy when filmmaker Aditya Dhar and actor Vicky Kaushal announced that after the success of their national award winning Uri: The Surgical Strike, they will be reuniting another mega project. Titled The Immortal Ashwatthama , the mythological superhero movie would have gone on floors last year if it wasn’t for the pandemic. Later due to budget issues, it was put on the back burner. But recently it was revealed that Dhar convinced Jio Studios to back the project, and it was revived.

However, actress Sara Ali Khan who was originally a part of the film, was replaced by South beauty Samantha Ruth Prabhu . Well, a report shared by Bollywood Hungama has revealed why Sara is not a part of the project anymore, and why Vicky might also be chucked out. A source shared that Jio was not sure if the original star cast would be able to rake in enough profit to recover the budget of Rs 225 crores, so Dhar approached Samantha who showed interest.

But now the producers reportedly want to consider another male lead. The source was quoted saying, “The heads at Jio didn't have an issue with the female lead, but the male lead. They felt investing Rs. 225 crores on Vicky Kaushal is a very risky proposition making recovery near impossible. They have been after Aditya to bring in a bigger star for the film or else part ways. Aditya, on the other hand, is sticking to his friend, Vicky Kaushal, who has already done months of hard work for the role of Ashwathhama.”

Well, the final call will be taken within a month’s time. While we won’t get to see Sara and Vicky together in The Immortal Ashwatthama, the actors will share the screen in another project which has been helmed by Laxman Utekar. Let’s now wait for an update on Aditya Dhar’s movie.
