    Ahead of the release of Akshay Kumar ’s period drama Samrat Prithviraj , a special screening of the film was organized for Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday. After watching the film, the politician heaped praises on the movie for portraying not only the valour of king Prithviraj Chauhan but also depicting the ‘greatness of our culture’.

    " Samrat Prithviraj is not only the story of an unparalleled warrior who fought bravely for our motherland, but it also reflects the greatness of our culture. The film Samrat Prithviraj depicts the Indian culture of respecting and empowering women. Our 1000 years of fight has not been in vain, a cultural awakening started in India in 2014, and it will again take India to the heights it was once at. Overcoming many obstacles and difficulties, today India's pride, greatness, culture and our ‘Swadharma’ have once again restored to the same glory. I congratulate the entire team of Samrat Prithviraj for…..especially the creative Art direction of this film," Shah said in a statement.

    Overwhelmed by the reaction of Shah to his upcoming movie, Akshay took to Twitter to pen a grateful note to the politician. Sharing the photos from the screening, he wrote, "A very emotional and proud evening for me. Had the rare honour of having Hon’ble Home Minister @AmitShah ji watch #SamratPrithviraj. उनकी हमारी फ़िल्म के लिए प्रशंसा ने हमारी मेहनत सफल कर दी! Ever so thankful."

    The makers of the film have organized another special screening for Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to watch the historical drama on Thursday, i.e June 2 in Lucknow.

    Meanwhile, Samrat Prithviraj is Yash Raj’s first-ever historical drama directed by Dr. Chandraprakash Dwivedi. The film follows the story of the life and valour of warrior king Prithviraj played by Akshay, who fought against invader Muhammad of Ghor to protect India. The film also marks the Bollywood debut of former Miss World Manushi Chhillar , who will be seen as princess Sanyogita in the film.

    Samrat Prithviraj is set to release in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu on June 3 in theatres.
