'Better get a normal beautiful dress': Deepika Padukone to attend as one of the presenters at Oscars 2023, netizens react

Deepika Padukone is one of the Indian actresses who believe in breaking boundaries. In the past, the actress made India proud at various prestigious global events like Cannes 2022, the FIFA World cup, and many others. In the latest, the actress has been chosen as one of the presenters for the Oscars 2023 which is scheduled on March 12. She will be among Hollywood biggies like Dwayne Johnson, Michale B Jordan, Emily Brunt, and Glenn Close to present the awards at Los Angeles’ Dolly Theatre.

Taking to her Instagram, the Gehraiyaan actress dropped the news by just posting the list of Oscar presenters. Her husband Ranveer Singh was one of the first to cheer for her, then followed the congratulatory messages from celebrities and her fans. However, a section of people stands divided by her being the presenter at the 95th Academy Awards. While a few suggested her not opt for her usual over-the-top dresses for the global event.

One of the users wrote, “You better get a normal beautiful dress, instead of going for some over-the-top “I don’t know wt$ it is” kinda dress!” Another commented, “Choose the right colour too. Apparently wearing a certain colour is offensive.” “What has she achieved in Hollywood? The Oscars like all other awards are a PR financed by the brand companies.. in any case, great India is being represented…,” wrote one of the trolls. Another added, “Give up girl. You’ll never break boundaries like Priyanka did. Who the hell even remembers the presenters of an award?!!”

This year, Naatu Naatu song from SS Rajamouli’s RRR is nominated along with two Indian documentaries- All That Breathes and The Elephant Whisperers at the Oscars. As per reports, Naatu Naatu will also be performed live by singers Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava on stage at the prestigious award evening.

Meanwhile, Deepika has resumed the shooting of her upcoming film, Project K and Fighter after the blockbuster success of Pathaan. She also has Intern remake and Draupadi in the pipeline.
