'Big new baddie in town': Alia Bhatt enters her villain era with Gal Gadot's Heart Of Stone and fans can't keep calm

The much-awaited trailer of Alia Bhatt’s Hollywood debut movie Heart of Stone dropped on Sunday and it sees the actress with guns and action for the first time. In the upcoming spy thriller, she co-stars with Gal Gadot and Jamie Dornan. In the short clip, it is revealed that the actress is playing an antagonist which has left her fans excited.

The trailer begins with Gal Gadot as Rachel Stone who serves a peace-keeping organisation called the Charte. She is responsible for keeping safe valuable and dangerous assets code-named: The Heart. Alia as Keya Dhawan, a tech-savvy hacker steals Charter’s most potent weapon and then follows an action-packed face-off between Gal and Alia in the film.

As soon as the short clip dropped, Alia’s fans couldn’t contain the excitement and spammed the comment section. “#AliaBhatt with a gun and action. She is entering her villain era and we just can't wait to watch it.” The second user wrote, “#AliaBhatt as Villain?? Omg my girl never fails to amaze me. Now I am even more excited for #HeartOfStone.” The third user wrote, “Not any side role or anything small. My girl is playing main antagonistttt in her debut Hollywood film. Aliaa is gonna show everyone how it's done! You go girl,(sic).”

Alia shot for Heart Of Stone when she was pregnant with her daughter Raha Kapoor. Talking about the same in an interview with Variety and she had said, “It was my first Hollywood big English picture experience and I had quite a task at hand because I was shooting for the first time an action movie. But I’m also pregnant so there were so many layers for me to deal with. But they made it so seamless and so easy and so comfortable for me. It’s something that I will never forget because of how beautifully and how well I was treated.”

Meanwhile, Heart Of Stone is directed by Tom Harper and backed by a list of producers including David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, Don Granger, Bonnie Curtis, Julie Lynn, Gal Gadot and Jaron Varsano. The film is scheduled to release on Netflix on August 11, 2023.
