Over the years, Bollywood has seen the best of friendships and enmities as well. When one speaks of friendship in recent times, two names which immediately pop up in the mind are that of Sara Ali Khan and Janhvi Kapoor. Time and again, the two have always [proved to be each other’s BFF. A lovely testimony to the same was seen in Karan Johar hosted Koffee With Karan, wherein the two stunning ladies had made an appearance on the host seat as the celebrity guests.
But, did you know that, Sara Ali Khan had once replaced Janhvi Kapoor from a film starring Ranveer Singh! Well… the film in question is Simmba and the director was Rohit Shetty. In a recent interview with The Lallantop, Janhvi Kapoor (who was being interviewed as a part of the promotional strategy of her upcoming film Mr And Mrs Mahie), revealed that she was replaced by Sara Ali Khan in the film Simmba. Readers may recall that, the film Simmba, eventually went onto become one of the all-time blockbusters at the box office.
Even though Janhvi Kapoor did not mention the real reason, there was an article in Mumbai Mirror, which had stated that the reason why she was replaced by Sara Ali Khan in the Rohit Shetty directed Simmba was because she had already started telling people that she was a part of the film.
As for Janhvi Kapoor, she has been on a promotional spree for her film Mr And Mrs Mahi, which stars her and Rajkummar Rao in the leading roles. The film has been produced by Karan Johar, Zee Studios, Hiroo Yash Johar and Apoorva Mehta and has been directed by Sharan Sharma, who had earlier directed Gunjan Saxena- The Kargil Girl, starring Jahnvi Kapoor.
The film Mr And Mrs Mahi is now all set to be released in theatres on May 31, 2024.
