'Didn't need someone with heart and brain': Chiranjeevi's upfront reply to Aamir Khan for picking Salman Khan in Godfather

Megastar Chiranjeevi is all set for his upcoming movie, Godfather , co-starring Nayanthara. Bollywood actor Salman Khan has been roped in for an important cameo in the film, marking his Tollywood debut. However, Aamir Khan recently expressed his disappointment to Chiranjeevi over choosing Salman and not him for the role. Well, Chiranjeevi’s upfront answer will leave you stunned.

On Sunday, Chiranjeevi released the Telugu trailer launch of Aamir’s upcoming release Laal Singh Chadha as chief guest. For his gesture, Aamir thanked the south superstar and said that he would like to return the favour by working on one of his projects. But when he came to know that Salman has been working with Chiranjeevi for Godfather, he asked why he chose him for the role and not him. Responding to this, Chiranjeevi said they roped in Salman because the character needed an actor for his physicality. “The character didn’t need someone with heart and brain, but needed someone for their physicality, and that’s why we went with Salman,” he said.

To note, Godfather is the official Telugu remake of the Malayalam super hit venture, Lucifer. Directed by Mohan Raja and produced by Konidela Production Company and Super Good Films, the film is on the verge of completion. The first look teaser has been released and it has created a lot of buzz among the audience.

Meanwhile, Aamir recently held a screening of Laal Singh Chadha for celebrities from the Telugu film industry which was attended by Chiranjeevi with SS Rajamouli, Nagarjuna, and Sukumar. Reportedly, Chiranjeevi was really touched after watching the film. Directed by Advait Chandan, the film is an adaptation of the American film Forrest Gump starring Aamir in the lead role. The film also has Kareena Kapoor , Mona Singh, and Naga Chaitanya in pivotal roles. The film is slated for theatrical release on August 11, 2022.
