Ranveer Singh was finally announced to be the new face of the Don franchise carrying on the legacy of Shah Rukh Khan and Amitabh Bachchan. Farhan Akhtar shared a small introduction teaser of Don 3 featuring the actor which created quite a frenzy amongst fans. Now, the latest development is that the makers have approached Kiara Advani to step into the shoes of Priyanka Chopra as the main female lead of the film.

Interestingly, Kiara Advani was also seen outside Farhan Akhtar’s Excel Entertainment Office which hints that the meeting was for Don 3 itself. However, it seems that Kiara will not be replacing Priyanka Chopra in a conventional manner. A source close to the development told Pinkvilla, “Farhan Akhtar has narrated the basic plotline of Don 3 to Kiara, and she loved it. Kiara has given her verbal nod and is excited to be a part of this thrilling world of rebooted Don alongside Ranveer Singh, with whom she has always dreamed of working. She, however, will not be playing the character of Roma, essayed by Priyanka Chopra in the previous Shah Rukh Khan movies. The Don franchise has been given a fresh makeover and will feature new characters. There will be no Roma this time, but yes, Kiara's character will have negative shades.”

If this indeed turns out to be true, this will also be the first collaboration between Kiara Advani and Ranveer Singh. The teaser of Don 3 had Ranveer mouthing an intense dialogue in style which had the iconic ‘11 Mulkon Ki Police’ reference. The shooting of the movie is expected to begin in mid-2024 and will be released in 2025. The first 1978 film Don had Amitabh Bachchan play the role after which Shah Rukh Khan essayed the character in 2006 and 2011. It will be interesting to see how well Ranveer Singh carries forward the baton.
