Emilia Clarke reveals that she wont be returning for HBO Max Jon Snow Game of Thrones Sequel
The actress said in a recent interview that while she wishes Kit Harington the best, she won't be returning as Daenerys Targaryen.
According to Clarke, she had heard of the Jon Snow sequel a while ago and that it was the brainchild of Kit Harrington
writer George R.R. Martin had in a recent interview confirmed that the show was in development and Kit Harrington did come up with the idea and that the studio was also working on three other spinoffs.
Game of Thrones was one of the most successful TV series of all time which became a worldwide phenomenon and catapulted the stars of the show to international superstardom.
And while Emilia Clarke is fond of her time with the show, it seems she is not keen on returning to the world of Westeros anytime soon.
In a recent interview with BBC News, she was asked about the Jon Snow sequel series to which she responded
"He has told me about it. And I know it exists. It's happening," It's been created by Kit as far as I can understand, so he's in it from the ground up."
"So what you will be watching, hopefully, if it happens," Clarke continued, "is certified by Kit Harington."
When asked whether we would be seeing her in a cameo in the new show she replied with a quick "No, I think I'm done!
She also expressed her enthusiasm for the upcoming prequel series The House of the Dragon
"It's going to be weird as hell. I'm going to watch this as a fresh viewer because it's [set] a be-jillion years before our show, so it's going to feel different."
While fans of the series will be disappointed that they will not able to see her in the upcoming sequel series, they can take comfort in the fact she will make her MCU debut in Secret Invasion.
While it hasn't been revealed what role in Secret invasion, it has been rumored that she will be playing a supervillain.
Secret Invasion is set in the fourth phase of the MCU and will consist of six episodes.
The series is set to stream on Disney+ in the later half of 2022.
