'Forced chemistry': Karan drops new photos of Alia & Ranveer ahead of Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani trailer, netizens react

Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani is one of the most anticipated movies of the year. Starring Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh, the upcoming film marks filmmaker Karan Johar’s return to the director’s chair after a hiatus of seven years. Ever since the teaser dropped, Karan has been treating his fans to Ranveer and Alia’s pictures right from their look test. On Sunday, he announced the trailer release date with a new set of pictures.

Taking to his Instagram handle, Karan dropped a string of pictures of Ranveer and Alia dressed up in their characters of Rocky and Rani respectively. While Ranveer looked dapper in an animal-printed shirt, Alia stunned in an orange saree. Alongside the pictures, Karan announced that the much-awaited trailer of Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani will drop on July 4, 2023, i.e. on Tuesday. He also added that the upcoming film has a ‘great suggestion’ for a happy marriage.

“The Rocky Rani slide show !!! The TRAILER is out on the 4th of JULY! the Randhawa’s and Chatterjee’s are all set to show you the pyar, the takraar and a great suggestion for a happy marriage ….😉😉😉 #rockyaurranikiipremkahaani releasing 28th July,” he captioned the post. Soon after, actor Varun Dhawan dropped a series of raising hand emoticons to express joy. On the other hand, a section of people loved the pictures, others felt Alia and Ranveer lack chemistry.

While one of the users wrote, “I’m sorry but zero chemistry.” The second user reacted, “I'm like really NOT A SINGLE SOUL in the production team ever mentioned that these two have zero chemistry, that anyone is literally a better match for Ranveer than Alia? She looks like his little cousin.” The third user stated, “I think he is posting their pictures again and again as he wants people to accept their zero chemistry into 100 chemistry.” “Kjo trying too hard to prove the existence of the chemistry and I still see 2 siblings!” read a comment.

Meanwhile, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani also stars Dharmendra, Shabana Azmi and Jaya Bachchan in pivotal roles. Bankrolled by Dharma Productions, the family drama is all set to arrive in theatres on July 28, 2023.
