Singer Saindhavi issued a new statement on Thursday, slamming a section of the media for indulging in unfounded speculations about her separation from her husband, G.V. Prakash Kumar. Recently, Saindhavi and Prakash officially announced that they have mutually decided to part ways after 11 years of marriage.

The announcement took everyone by surprise and led to many speculations about the reasons for the separation. Some have come up with wild theories and participated in trolling the couple and making hurtful comments against them.

"It's disheartening to see numerous YouTube videos fabricating stories about the news they've received, especially after we requested privacy," said Saindhavi.

Saindhavi also rubbished the rumours about "external factors" playing a role in breaking her marriage with Prakash. "To clarify, our divorce is not due to any external force, and randomly assassinating someone's character baselessly is unacceptable. This decision was mutually made by both of us for our betterment. GV Prakash and I have been friends for 24 years since our school days, and we will continue to maintain that friendship moving forward," she added.

Saindhavi's statement comes a day after Prakash also expressed his dismay over the distasteful discussions surrounding his personal life across social media platforms. He requested people to exercise restraint and provide much-needed privacy to him and his family.

Prakash expressed solidarity with Saindhavi's statement and reiterated his request to the media and public to refrain from making presumptions about his personal life. "For those channels who write their own stories based on their own assumptions, which are not true. And for some IDs who enjoy character assassinating people based on their own imagination and stories. For the rest, thanks for your support during these hard times," he said.
