Indian 2: First single from Kamal Haasan and S Shankar’s film to release on THIS date!

The first single from Kamal Haasan and director S Shankar’s upcoming film Indian 2 is set to release on May 22, 2024. The makers of the film took to their social media handles to share the exciting update. “Indian 2 - 1st single from May 22nd. Indian worldwide from July 12th,” wrote director S Shankar, sharing an intriguing new poster from the film. The announcement poster features Kamal Haasan’s character Senapathy’s silhouette against the backdrop of a sunrise. With Anirudh Ravichander composing the music, there is pressure on whether the young talent will be able to create a hit.

Indian 2 promotions begin

With Kamal Haasan’s highly anticipated sequel Indian 2 scheduled to hit the big screens on July 12, the makers have begun the promotional activities for the film. Recently, Kamal Haasan and S Shankar made an appearance during the IPL match between RCB and CSK to officially launch the promotions for Indian 2.

Indian 2 to release on Netflix post theatrical release

Cinephiles were excited and intrigued when it was first announced that Senapathy from the 1996 blockbuster film Indian would be making a return in Indian 2. Recently, it was announced that Netflix has acquired the digital rights to the Kamal Haasan-starring film. Directed by S Shankar, the movie will be available on the OTT giant after its theatrical release and will be streamable in Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi.

The ensemble cast and crew of Indian 2

Besides Kamal Haasan, the film boasts an ensemble cast that includes Kajal Aggarwal, Bobby Simha, Samuthirakani, Delhi Ganesh, Jayaprakash, Siddharth, Rakul Preet Singh, Gulshan Grover, and Vennela Kishore in pivotal roles. A Sreekar Prasad handled the editing, while R Rathnavelu and Ravi Varman handled cinematography. Anirudh Ravichander has composed the soundtrack and original score for the project, replacing AR Rahman, who was the composer for the first installment of the film. The movie is produced by Red Giant Pictures and Lyca Productions.
