The entire nation was in shock back in 2020 when the report of Irrfan Khan ’s death flashed before our eyes on news portals. The superstar, who gave us incredible performances and several masterpieces in his career spanning over 3 decades, was diagnosed with a neuroendocrine tumor in 2018. One day before his death, he was admitted to the hospital for treatment for a colon infection but on 29th April he breathed his last. His fans were heartbroken while his wife Sutapa Sikdar and sons Babil and Ayan were devastated.

Babil, who misses his father each and every day, often shares unseen snaps of the late actor on social media. Today he remembered Irrfan with childhood photographs and shared how they used to talk for hours. Babil wrote: “You know I think my father was one of the best actors in the world but the truth is that he was an infinitely better father and a friend. Sometimes I get exhausted, and I cry; with just the sheer agony of being born into a body or the suffering of living the illusion of ‘Self’ or ‘the individual’.”

He further revealed, “We used to talk, you know? For hours, all-nighters in existential crisis management hahahah. We live, we die, and secretly deep in our souls everybody is waiting for the end.” We are grateful to Babil for sharing these precious pictures of the man who was one of Bollywood’s biggest gems. It was a terrible year for the film industry because a day later Irrfan’s D-Day co-star Rishi Kapoor passed away and in June that year Sushant Singh Rajput bid the world a final adieu. We miss them, but they continue to live on in our hearts forever!
