Janhvi Kapoor gets appreciation from Nayanthara for Kolamaavu Kokila remake GoodLuck Jerry: 'There couldn’t have been a better Jerry'

Janhvi Kapoor is all geared up for the release of her upcoming film, GoodLuck Jerry. The film is the Hindi remake of the Tamil film Kolamaavu Kokila headlined by lady superstar Nayanthara . The recently released trailer convinced Nayanthara that there could not have been a better actress than Janhvi to step into her shoes in the remake.

Nayanthara appreciated Janhvi’s performance by saying, "Kokila is so close to my heart, and watching the GoodLuck Jerry trailer brings me so much joy, what an entertaining ride the audience is in for, there couldn’t have been a better Jerry! GoodLuck Jahnvi!.," she said in a statement. To note, ‘Kokila’ was the name of the protagonist in the original film played by Nayanthara. The film was a massive hit at the box office.

Directed by Siddharth Sen, GoodLuck Jerry is a dark comedy that features Janhvi in the role of a poor Bihari girl who takes up a drug dealing job to save his mother battling from cancer. The film also stars Deepak Dobriyal, Mita Vashisht, Neeraj Sood, and Sushant Singh in pivotal roles. GoodLuck Jerry will stream on the OTT platform from July 29.

Meanwhile, Nayanthara is currently busy shooting with superstar Shah Rukh Khan for Jawan . The film is being directed by ace filmmaker Atlee. The film also has Sanya Malhotra in a key role. The film is slated to hit theatres on June 2, 2023. In South, she has Godfather alongside Mohan Raja and Chiranjeevi. On the other hand, Janhvi is working on Nitesh Tiwari ’s Bawaal co-starring Varun Dhawan . She took a break from the shooting to promote GoodLuck Jerry. The actress recently flew back to Poland to resume the shooting. The film marks the first collaboration of Janhvi with Varun and is touted to be a love story as per reports.
