    Kangana Ranaut has once again taken a slant dig at filmmaker Karan Johar as Amazon Prime Video announced the release of her film Tiku Weds Shera on the platform which will mark her digital debut as a producer. The Nawazuddin Siddiqui starrer film which was announced as a part of Prime Video’s forty plus orginals line-up for the next two years at an event in Mumbai which was co-hosted by Karan Johar.

    The actress seems to hold a grudge against Netflix Global Chief, Bela Bajaria for attending a party hosted by Karan Johar recently when she was in India. The actress praised Prime Video’s executives as ‘open minded’ and ‘democratic’ while took a jibe at the Netflix Chief for ‘parking’ herself at a ‘fading 90s director’s infamous party’.

    In a note on her Instagram Stories, Kangana wrote, “Data suggests that Amazon Prime Video is doing way better than Netflix in India maybe because they are much more open minded and democratic, when international head visits India they don’t park themselves at a fading 90s director’s infamous party but meet everyone who is contributing to them… Last I heard Netflix head was not able to understand Indian market… Well Indian market is not just one b***hy gossipy nineties director…. There are hundreds of talented people here.”

    Kangana’s tiff with Karan Johar over the nepotism row and more is well known, but it is still unknown why the actress and producer decided to drag in Netflix into the matter.

    Tiku Weds Shera has been produced under Kangana’s production banner Manikarnika Films. The movie stars Avneet Kaur alongside Nawauddin Siddiqui and has been helmed by Sai Kabir.

    Announced on Thursday as a part of Amazon’s original line-up under ‘special collaborations’ the film’s synopsis read - ‘A roller coaster love story of two survivors who in spite of overwhelming odds have a great zest to live and celebrate life.’

    The digital film went on floors last year and was completed in February this year.
