In the latest episode of Koffee With Karan Season 8, Bollywood leading ladies Rani Mukerji and Kajol graced thw show. From recalling Kuch Kuch Hota Hai to talking about their husband, kids and professional lives, the conversation reeled around several topics during the episode. Kuch Kuch Hota shooting days
Karan made his directorial debut with Kuch Kuch Hota Hai(1998) featuring Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol and Rani Mukerji. During the episode, he shared several funny anecdotes that left both Rani and Kajol in splits. He recalled the time when he and Manish went shopping for clothes for the film’s leading ladies’ characters in London. Also at that time, Aditya Chopra was setting up Yash Raj Films with Anil Thadani in the UK. The four of them booked two rooms in the apartment, and the concierge of the building mistook them for two couples as they walked out. The incident left Kajol and Rani in splits. During the conversation, Karan also recalled his father used to complain about spending a lot of money during the KKHH shooting. He even revealed that Kajol’s red jumpsuit from the Koi Mil Gaya song was bought from the baby section of a brand.
Rani blames KJo for snatching food
During the episode, Rani recalled how Karan had once snatched food out of her hands during the film's shoot. KJo explained, "I had told Rani that we have to wear a short skirt in Mauritius so just lose some weight. She said I’ll lose 4-5. The kilos happened but they were not lost. They were put on. I was like ‘How was she going to wear that shirt orange skirt?’ So, we instructed the room service to not give her any food," he shared. He went on to reveal that Rani's mother too supported him and his idea, leaving the actress stunned.
Kajol forgets Rani Mukerji was in K3G
During the quiz round, when Karan questioned Kajol about the movie in which Rani had a cameo appearance. Kajol went clueless as she had no idea what that meant and could not recall the film’s name. Karan later revealed that it was Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, and she was left in utter surprise to not get the answer right.
Kuch Kuch Hota Hai plot twists session
Karan Johar commemorated the silver jubilee of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai with a special video with social media influencers twisting the original story with their alternate endings. YouTubers Sumukhi Suresh, Kareema Barry, and Kusha Kapila to other internet personalities were seen giving their take on KKHH, like calling it a murder mystery and questioning polyamorous relationships.
Kajol staging a walkout from the show
After the Rapid-Fire round wrapped up and Rani ended up winning the gift hamper, Kajol claimed jokingly that the results by the jury audience were rigged. She warned that she would stage a walkout from the show. The fun banter turned sweeter when KJo teamed up with Kajol to tease Rani as the ‘Malkin’ and ‘Queen’ considering that the shooting takes place at YRF studio owned by the actress’ husband Aditya Chopra.
