Neetu Kapoor consulted a psychiatrist post Rishi Kapoor’s demise; reveals why she stopped seeing the doctor later

Back in 2020, veteran superstar Rishi Kapoor bid the world a final adieu after battling leukemia for two long years. His demise left a void in all our hearts while the Kapoor Khaandaan was devastated. It took some time but eventually his wife Neetu Kapoor gathered herself and coped with the grief, with the support of their children Ranbir and Riddhima. What further helped her during this time was returning to work. Later that year, she decided to make her Bollywood comeback and began shooting for Karan Johar ’s Jugjugg Jeeyo.

In a recent chat with Health Shots, Neetu revealed that she had consulted a psychiatrist after her husband’s untimely death. While sharing advice on coping with a difficult time, she stated, “Whatever it is you’re feeling, whatever your issue is, you must do something. If you are having a mental health problem, see a psychiatrist. I went to a psychiatrist. After my husband (left), I used to consult a doctor, but then I said, ‘I am stronger than what the doctor is saying’.”

Soon she stopped visiting the doctor. Neetu explained, “The doctor was telling me to do things that I already knew, so I thought to myself ‘Why am I not doing these myself?’. And so, I stopped seeing the doctor and I dealt with my ‘missing him’, ‘feeling low’ feelings within myself, and made myself stronger.” The actress also shared that she was always the stronger one in their relationship and gave her husband strength when they faced a tough situation in life.

Well, Neetu ji is undoubtedly one of the strongest women out there and there is a lot people can learn from her. More power to her! On the work front, she will be returning to the silver screen on 24th June with Jugjugg Jeeyo, which also stars Anil Kapoor , Varun Dhawan and Kiara Advani in the lead. We wish her only the best!
