Hayden Christensen who reprised the role of Anakin Skywalker aka Darth Vader in the new series opened up about shooting the finale and the final conflict between his character and Obi-Wan.

The final episode of Obi-Wan Kenobi streamed on Disney + last week and one of the highlights was the duel between Obi-Wan and Darth Vader.

Initially, Vader had the upper hand but in the end, Obi-Wan triumphed over his former apprentice and partially removed his helmet revealing his damaged face.

The duel between the two had been teased for some time and is now considered one of the best fights in the franchise.

Of course, Star Wars fans could tell this moment was inspired by the animated series Star Wars: Rebels in which Ahsoka Tano faced Darth Vader and partially damaged his mask and revealed his face.

While Christensen has not talked about it, sources close to the actor say he saw the show several times to prepare for the role.

In a recent interview with Collider the actor spoke about shooting the finale and unmasking Darth Vader

"It was a very emotional scene to shoot, and obviously a very important one. It was something that I think everyone was very aware of just, like, stepping out on set that day. There was a very different feeling. For both Ewan and I, it was a rather emotional experience, and I think that comes across onscreen."

There are rumors that the fans will be able to the actor return in the upcoming Ashoka series alongside Rosario Dawson and a spinoff series focusing on his character Darth Vader.

Hopefully, fans will get to see him in other Star Wars spinoffs soon.
