Several Indian cricket fans were left disappointed on Thursday as India lost to England in the crucial semi-final match of the T20 World Cup . Singer Rahul Vaidya , who also proclaims himself a big Indian cricket fan, also lamented India’s defeat. At the same time, he believed that IPL is the reason behind India’s frequent failure at ICC world tournaments. Other Bollywood biggies including Ajay Devgn, and Farhan Akhtar, among others, however, lauded England’s performance and condoled the Indian team.

In a series of tweets, Rahul shared his opinion about India’s performance at the semi-final match of the T20 World Cup. He wrote, “People are Blaming KL Rahul .. Our total wasnt bad guys. It’s just that their batting is exceptionally solid. And our bowlers couldn’t pull off anything spectacular! #INDvsENG.” In another tweet, he blamed IPL for poor performance of the Indian cricket team. “But as a BIG INDIAN CRICKET FAN i do have a complaint .. INDIA ALWAYS fails to win an ICC world tournament !!! And believe it or not IPL is a big reason for that,” he wrote.

On the other hand, Ajay Devgn penned a heartfelt note for Team India as an avid fan of cricket. An excerpt of his note read, “Though your journey to the finals was cut short, we enjoyed every bit of it. I cannot imagine the pressure each of you guys experienced with the eyes of the nation watching you.” He further assured the team no matter what every Indian will always stand up with them. “Chin up guys! We will come back stronger and better than ever.”Farhan Akhtar also took to Instagram and shared a note. “ England outplayed us, and congratulations to them on a solid performance. The defeat must weigh heavy on our team’s shoulders and it's in times like these, we got to lift them up, “ a part of his note read.

Meanwhile, England chased down a 169-run target in 16 overs at the Adelaide Oval on Thursday and defeated India. The winning team is set to face Pakistan in the final.
