Ranveer Singh is well known as the live wire of the Hindi film industry, thanks to his crazy energy. He is also quite popular for being an actor who never fails to steal our attention and make a mark, may it be with his characters or the films he chooses. Well, this time the heartthrob is trending on social media thanks to a commercial shot for Bold Care, which is a men's sexual health and wellness brand co-founded by him. Also starring adult actor Johnny Sins, the advertisement is a parody of saas-bahu serials.

In an exclusive interview with Desimartini, the advertisement’s director Ayappa KM lauded Ranveer and opened up about their experience of working together. He shared, “It was my first time working with him. He is extremely energetic, but I think in this particular case I think we have to give it to him. In India, everyone is so scared, especially in Bollywood. People are very scared from movies to ads to everything, they’re just scared of their image and taking any kinds of risks. For such a huge star to take a risk like this, I think is really commendable.”

The filmmaker further revealed, “On set, I think he was the most excited of the lot and he was extremely energetic. He made it very comfortable for everyone. He stayed in character. You see his performance, he’s overacting in just the right level. It’s not crossing the line and it’s not becoming a spoof of a spoof. It was very earnest that way. That requires a lot of acting chops and I was very impressed with his comic timing.”

While several celebrities were left impressed by Ranveer and this ad, TV actress Rashami Desai called the concept humiliating and a slap on the face. When asked to react on TV stars who got offended by the dig at saas-bahu serials, Ayappa KM replied, “I am extremely happy that they have taken strong offense, which means we have done our job really well.”
