RRR star Jr NTR reveals the heartwarming reason why his bandhgala for the Oscars has a tiger on it; watch

It is a big day for our country today because India won not one but two Oscars at the 95th Academy Awards . While Guneet Monga's The Elephant Whisperers was awarded the trophy for Best Documentary Short, RRR ’s Naatu Naatu won the Oscar for Best Original Song. To witness the big win, RRR director SS Rajamouli was present at the prestigious award ceremony along with his lead actors Ram Charan and Jr NTR. Charan’s black bandhgala was a tribute to freedom fighters of the past, whereas Jr NTR’s royal velvet bandhgala featured an embroidered tiger on it. The thought behind his outfit is what made it even more special.

In a viral video from the event, Jr NTR revealed, “I'm wearing Gaurav Gupta. He's one of our amazing designers, a very good friend of mine. So he felt, you know, when we discussed that, you know, it's not going to be us walking the carpet, it's India. So that's why I'm in my Indian attire, Tiger being the national animal of India.” The superstar went on to express his overwhelming feelings about walking the carpet for the first time. He shared, “I feel great, surreal, ecstatic. You know, I've always been seeing the carpet on TV, but guess what? I walked that carpet. I'm walking the carpet. It feels amazing.”

Designer Gaurav Gupta also took to social media to explain that he wanted this black velvet bandhgala to represent ‘a true global Indian’ and also have elements of the superstar’s personality. Well, the royal ensemble was successful at making a statement and leaving fans in awe. In the comment section below, many are now showering Jr NTR with love. One social media user shared, “Loved his accent and the way he is representing india congratulations for the award , proud moment for all Indians”, whereas another comment read: “Such representation of our nation was much neede at international stage....than those Bollywood kids n nepos....”
