    While RRR did manage to be shortlisted for Best Orginal Song, it did not make the cut when it came to the Best International Film category.

    But India's official entry the Gujarati movie Last Film Show directed by Pan Nalin did manage to make the list.

    So far the academy has announced its shortlist for ten categories, While RRR did not make the cut for the Best International Film there is still a chance it may get picked for the raming categories including Best Director or Best Picture.

    RRR has also been nominated for two Golden Globes for Best Forgeun Film and Best song and the winners will be announced live on January 11th.

    As far as the Oscars are concerned the eligibility period for submissions to The Academy ends on the 31st of December with the first round of voting to start on January 12th.

    The final list of nominees will be announced on February 13th and the winners will be announced on the day of the Award ceremony held at Dolby Theatre Hollywood, Los Angeles on March 12th.

    Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and All Quiet on the Western Front got shortlisted in five categories and James Cameron's Avatar: The Way of Water got shortlisted in three.

    In the Best Original Song category, RRR's 'Natu Natu' will compete with fifteen other songs for a chance to be nominated.

    The music for the movie was composed by National Award winner M. M. Keeravani and the song 'Natu Natu' was sung by Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava.

    Director SS Rajamouli has confirmed that a sequel for RRR is in development and is in the scripting phase and that the original cast will be returning for the sequel.

    The cast of the movie includes N. T. Rama Rao Jr., Ram Charan, Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt, Shriya Saran, Samuthirakani, Ray Stevenson, Alison Doody, and Olivia Morris.
