Sanya Malhotra has a witty reply to rumours of being part of Vicky Kaushal-Tripti Dimri's Mere Mehboob Mere Sanam

    Sanya Malhotra recently rubbished the rumours of her being part of Karan Johar's production venture, Mere Mehbood Mere Sanam, a romantic comedy directed by Anand Tiwari.

    Speculations were rife that Sanya Malhotra has been part of Karan Johar’s upcoming production venture, Mere Mehboob Mere Sanam. Directed by Anand Tiwari, the film featuring, Vicky Kaushal, Tripti Dimri, and Ammy Virk, is touted to be a romantic comedy. Recently, when the Dangal actress was asked if she is part of the project, she denied it with a witty answer.

    “The only Mere Mehboob Mere Sanam I know is the Shah Rukh Khan song,” said Sanya in an interview with Etimes. Instead, she confirmed that she is very much part of Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan. “I’m very proud to announce that I’m part of the film. I still can't believe that I’m working in a film with Shah Rukh Khan. I think I will have to watch the film to believe it. And working with SRK has been like a dream come true,” she added. For the unversed, Jawan is an upcoming action drama helmed by Atlee which also stars Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi in pivotal roles.

    Sanya is currently busy promoting her recently released Netflix drama, Kathal. The comedy-drama features Sanya in the role of police officer Mahima Basor, who is on a mission to find two premium quality jackfruits stolen from MLA’s garden. Written by Ashok Mishra and directed by Yashowardhan Mishra, the film also features Anant V Joshi, Vijay Raaz, Rajpal Yadav, Brijendra Kala and Raghubir Yadav in prominent roles. Backed by Balaji Motion Pictures and Sikhya Entertainment, the film was released on May 19, 2023.

    Up next, the actress will be seen in Meghna Gulzar’s Sam Bahadur alongside Vicky Kaushal and Fatima Sana Shaikh. The upcoming film is based on the life of Sam Manekshaw, who served as the Indian Military's Secretary of War during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971. She will be seen in the role of late Field Marshal Sam Maneksha's wife, Silloo.
