    Aditi Rao Hydari is one of the most underrated actresses of Bollywood who is getting the due credit for her talents after her portrayal of Bibbojaan in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s debut web series Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar. Speaking about her equation with Heeramandi co-stars, Aditi revealed in an interview that she was inspired to become an actress after watching her Heeramandi co-star actress Manisha Koirala in Bombay and Khamoshi: The Musical.

    Manisha Koirala inspired Aditi Rao Hydari to become an actress

    During a conversation with Janice Sequeira, Aditi Rao Hydari was asked if she missed her co-stars from Heeramandi. The actress replied that she does but also gets to spend so much time with them because they call each other on a day when they have time and end up hanging together. Speaking about Manisha Koirala, Aditi said that she loves her, but Manisha is not often in Mumbai because she lives in Nepal. The actress also revealed that Manisha is very much a part of her growing-up dream of wanting to become a heroine.

    In an interview with Humans of Bombay, Aditi revealed that at a point in her childhood she happened to see the song Kehna Hi Kya from Mani Ratnam’s film Bombay which starred Manisha Koirala and Arvind Swamy. Aditi said that after she saw the song and later the whole film, she went, “That’s what I want to do and that’s where I want to be.”

    Aditi also added that soon after watching Bombay, she saw Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Khamoshi: The Musical which also starred Manisha Koirala, along with Salman Khan and Nana Patekar.

    Aditi manifested her childhood dream and recreated Manisha’s filmography when she shot a film titled Kaatru Veliyidai with Mani Ratnam and after wrapping up the shoot started shooting for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaavat for the role of Mehrunnisa.

    Adding to Janice’s question about meeting her co-stars from Heeramandi, Aditi said that it is tough to get Sanjeeda out of the house, but Sonakshi Sinha and Aditi end up meeting quite a lot. Aditi also said that she meets with Sharmin whenever she is in town.

    Aditi Rao Hydari was last seen alongside Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Sanjeeda Shaikh, Richa Chadha and Sharmin Segal in Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar which released on Netflix on May 1. Aditi has garnered praise from the audience and critics alike for her portrayal of Bibbojaan from the series, while her gajagamini walk from a song from the series has gone viral on social media.
