Thor: Love and Thunder gets its first promo clip and we get to see Jane Foster wield the mighty Mjolnir

The short clip is similar to the one we have seen in the trailer where Thor is in the midst of battle and calls to his hammer Mjolnir, the hammer flies close to Thor but then swings back to its new owner's arm Jane Foster.

Jane Foster will be taking on the mantle of The Mighty Thor, while how she came in possession of the hammer is not revealed director Taika Waitti has confirmed that her character arc will be based on her comic book counterpart.

in the comics, Jane Foster suffers from cancer and takes up the hammer to find a way to cure herself.

Natalie Portman will be reprising her role as Jane Foster after a gap of nine years, she last appeared in the 2013Thor: The Dark World and the actress agreed to return after a meeting with director Taika Waitti who offered a fresh take on the character.

Oscar-winner Christain Bale will also be making his MCU debut as Gorr: The God Butcher and will be the main antagonist of the movie.

The movie is after the events of Avengers: End Game and will focus on Thor trying to find a new purpose in life but when a new threat in the form of Gorr appears he must gather his friends Jane Foster, King Valkyre, and Korg to take on this new threat.

The cast of the movie includes Chris Hemsworth , Christian Bale, Tessa Thompson, Jaimie Alexander, Taika Waititi, Russell Crowe , and Natalie Portman.

Thor: Love and Thunder will hit the big screen on July 8, 2022.
