Ullozhukku trailer: Parvathy's hidden secrets create a rift between her and Urvashi in the thriller | Watch

The official trailer of Parvathy and Urvashi’s upcoming film Ullozhukku is out! The makers took to their social media handles to share the trailer, and it has all the ingredients necessary to build excitement for a perfect mystery thriller.

The trailer begins with a news announcement that Kuttanad in Kerala has been flooded, and the incessant rains continue. We then see Urvashi crying as the dead body of her son Thomaskutty, played by Prashanth Murali, is brought home. Although the cause of his death remains a mystery, the family faces a dilemma when his body cannot be buried due to the heavy floods in the area. Parvathy, who plays Prashanth’s wife, looks distressed throughout the trailer and is seen taking a pregnancy test, which appears to be positive. Urvashi asks her to stay as her son’s body is yet to be buried. When other family members insist on burying him elsewhere, Urvashi is adamant about burying her son’s corpse in their family grave.

Parvathy, on the other hand, is unwilling to stay any longer and wishes to leave, but Urvashi asks her to hand over her baby before she goes. Suspicion arises in Urvashi when she sees her daughter-in-law secretly talking to someone over the phone. It seems Parvathy has been hiding secrets from the family, which are connected to her late husband’s death. The trailer then takes us through a series of tense shots of the characters trying to cope with the newly emerged secrets. 

The trailer gives off a similar vibe to director Christo Tomy’s popular Netflix documentary series Curry and Cyanide: The Jolly Joseph Case. Nonetheless, Malayalam cinephiles are eagerly awaiting to see two powerhouses of talent—Parvathy Thiruvothu and Urvashi — on screen.

The movie also features Shebin Benson, Arjun Radhakrishnan, Veena Nair, and Alencier Ley Lopez in key roles. 

Ullozhukku release date

As reported, Ullozhukku has been scheduled for release on June 21, 2024, while the highly anticipated pan-India film Kalki 2898 AD will release on June 27. Many Malayalam cinema fans feel that the makers of Ullozhukku could have chosen a different date, as the Telugu biggie is expected to have a better edge over the Malayalam film. However, we are yet to see how both of these films will perform at the Kerala box office.
