World Cup 2023 Final: Ranveer Singh-Deepika Padukone, Anil Kapoor fly to Ahmedabad for IND vs AUS showdown
Deepika Padukone, her father Prakash Padukone, her husband Ranveer Singh have headed to Narendra Modi Stadium to watch the match among the thousands of spectators.
Bollywood and cricket go hand-in-hand. As team India is all set to compete with Australia for World Cup 2023, the B-town celebrities jetted off to Ahmedabad to cheer for the men in blue. Deepika Padukone, her father Prakash Padukone, her husband Ranveer Singh have headed to Narendra Modi Stadium to watch the match among the thousands of spectators. While Deepika sported Team India jersey, Ranveer paired an orange T-shirt with a blue and white jacket.
On the other hand, Telugu star Daggubati Venkatesh was also spotted arriving at Ahmedabad airport. Anil Kapoor too jetted off to watch the showdown between India Vs Australia. Even Ayushmann Khurrana will be joining the spectators to watch the match. He shared a post on X that read, "Going to see the #IndVsAus #CricketWorldCup finals at the spectacular Narendra Modi Stadium Ahmedabad with a lot of hope in my heart. I don’t think any Indian has forgotten 2003. So, this is a grudge match.. Come on India, let’s bring it home again boys (sic)."
Anupam Kher also shared a video on the micro-blogging site and extended his support. "So friends! Today the echo of India's victory will be heard from the hearts of 140 crore Indians. Jai Ho! Jai Hind! Jai Indian cricket team (sic)" he wrote. Even Amitabh Bachchan sent good wishes to team India during Kaun Banega Crorepati. He said in Hindi, “Dear Rohit and Team India. Today is the day for which you and your team has worked hard since several years and you are prepared as well. Along with you, the entire country has waited for this day. All of us want to tell each Team India player that when you will be on the field today, we 140 Indians will also be with you. Today, the breath of the entire country will be with the breath of these 11 players.”
He added, “Today, the courage of 140 Indians will accompany you to the field. Every Indian's energy will be with you on the field and when you will hold the World Cup in your arms, the 140 Indians will say with pride, ‘Vijayi vishwa tiranga pyara, jhanda uncha rahe humara.” Meanwhile, earlier, Ranbir Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal, Sidharth Malhotra, Kiara Advani, Shahid Kapoor, Mira Rajput and John Abraham made World Cup Semi-Final match between India and New Zealand a star-studded affair.
