After Prabhas's Salaar director Prashanth Neel eyeing Aamir Khan and Jr NTR for his next project
The KGF director has big plans for 2023.
According to a report by news agency IANS, director Prashanth Neel's upcoming project with jr NTR will also star Aamir Khan in a leading role.
Aamir Khan has taken a hiatus from acting after the lackluster performance of his 2022 movie Laal Singh Chaddha, a remake of the 1994 Hollywood film Forrest Gump.
So if this ends up happening it will not only mark the actor's Telugu debut but will be the biggest casting coup in Indian cinema history.
Currently, Prashanth Neel is busy with his upcoming action movie Salaar , which will star Prabhas in the lead, marking their first collaboration.
KGF producers Hombale Films are financing Salaar as well the director's upcoming project with jr NTR. Salaar has a massive budget of 200 crores.
The director has also expressed his interest in creating a cinematic universe centered around the KGF franchise so there is a strong possibility that the upcoming Salaar and the untitled project with jr NTR could be set in the same cinematic universe.
Similar to what director Lokesh Kanakaraj has done with Kaithi, Vikram, and the planned spinoffs of the franchise; with Thalapathy 67 being the next installment in the franchise.
The possibility of Aamir Khan, Pranhbas, Yash and jr NTR could all one day be costarring in a big action movie is sure to excite fans.
Salaar is an action thriller and the first movie in India to use Dark Centric Theme (DCT) technology which will cause the film's lighting pattern and color palette would be darker in color, similar to Hollywood movies like Tenent and The Batman.
The movie will also mark the return of Malayalam actor Prithviraj to Telugu after 12 years since 2010s Police Police, in which he starred opposite Sriram.
Director Prashanth Neel revealed that 80 percent of Salaar has been completed and only the climax of the movie remains to be shot.
Salaar is scheduled to hit theaters worldwide on 28 September 2023.
