The Ranbir Kapoor and Bobby Deol starrer Animal has been making moolah at the box office despite mixed reviews. The fever doesn’t seem to die down anytime soon as the footfalls have been constant even on weekdays. After passing the crucial Monday test with flying colours, it barely registered a drop on Tuesday. As per early estimates, the film has earned Rs 39 crore on the fifth day of release.

The Sandeep Reddy Vanga directorial had a solid opening of Rs 63.8 crore upon its release. The film went on to collect Rs 66.7 crore and Rs 71.46 crore on the following days, taking the first-weekend collection to over Rs 250 crore. On its first Monday, the film managed to earn Rs 43.96 crore, and Tuesday's collection turned out to be Rs 39.8 crore as per industry tracker Sacnilk. At the global box office, the film has registered a whopping Rs 481 crore as per production house T-series.

Animal has emerged as Ranbir Kapoor’s second-biggest hit domestically and worldwide. The movie broke the record of Brahmastra and now heads forward to take on the Rs 342 crore domestic and nearly Rs 590 crore global gross of Sanju. Considering box office trends, the film will easily march past the Rs 500-mark in the coming days, until Shah Rukh Khan’s Dunki take on the ticket window at the domestic market on December 22, 2023. Despite being an A certificate and a nearly three-and-a-half-hour run-time movie, Animal has and will continue to defy the restrictions owing to positive word of mouth.

The film delves into the intricate dynamics between a tycoon named Balbir Singh and his son, Ranvijay Singh played by Anil Kapoor and Ranbir Kapoor respectively. The film has Bobby Deol as an antagonist Abrar Haque, and Rashmika Mandanna features as Rannvijay’s wife Geetanjali. The film also has Triptii Dimri, Saurabh Sachdeva, Shakti Kapoor, Suresh Oberoi and Prem Chopra in key roles. Backed by T-series, Bhadrakali Pictures and Cine1 Studios, the film hit the theatres on December 1, 2023.
