Badhaai Do: Bhumi Pednekar describes the Rajkummar Rao starrer as ‘endearing’; reveals what made her say yes

The very talented Bhumi Pednekar is all set to shine on-screen with the supremely versatile Rajkummar Rao in their upcoming film Badhaai Do . Other than the fact that this is their first project together, what excites fans is the story-line which offers us something new and interesting to look forward to. According to the trailer, Rajkummar has played the role of a cop who approaches Bhumi’s character, a physical education teacher, for marriage despite knowing that she has no interest in men. Their marriage of convenience takes off according to plan, until her girlfriend enters the story.

In a recent chat with Indian Express, Bhumi opened up about the film and revealed what made her say yes to this comedy drama. The actress was quoted saying, “I’m really proud that filmmakers, making differential content and taking on clutter-breaking subjects, feel I can helm a project that is unique and bring their vision to life. I thrive on pushing myself constantly and my decision to do Badhaai Do was based on the fact that I get to sensitively portray a character and give voice to a subject that will be an eye-opener for India.”

Bhumi explained that as a human being she is drawn to subjects that can have a positive impact on the people of our society, and the actress hopes Badhaai Do is able to do so. She added, “I can’t wait for people to watch this film because it is truly, truly endearing.” Well, Bhumi and Raj are currently on a promotional spree and are leaving no stones unturned to make their film one of the most awaited releases of the month.
